OK. If you can you can and if not, don't worry but yes, I would like to see it.

I removed a wasp nest from my sister-in-law's back porch; it was in a bad location. I removed the yellow jacket nest that was in a flower bed in the front garden. However, to go out and hunt down every nest is not good for the environment; hornets, bees, wasps, are part of our environment and they each have a place in the ecosystem.

As for being allergic, yes, you would want to remove any possible problem nests such as porches but hornets; bees, wasps; can be found everywhere; eradicating them all would mean eradicating humans as they depend on them for producing food. We are actually facing a problem with populations dieing out; Silent Spring could actually come true.

I hate to think of a bird dieing in the stove but I guess such things happen; I would rather have to do additional maintenance to prevent the possibility.

Don't forget wasps. There are parasitic wasps that help to control pest populations such as the green horn worm that loves to devour tomato plants.

They all play a role, just not in my yard or near my kids. There's plenty of real estate for them without risking injury to my family and guests. I think it's fine for a homeowner to get rid of pests.

Re: honeybees, we really should be doing more. I'll assume the wasps and hornets buzzing around the yard are okay at the population level.
