The pot just got a tad sweeter this evening. I found another roadside tree that was growing too close to the lines and taken down. Nice small-ish sugar maple which was a welcome relief after wrestling with those heavy beech rounds earlier.

Here’s the bulk of the beech from this score waiting to be processed. There’s a few more large limbs and oddballs kicking around too, plus the little bit of black birch from the same roadside cutting.

This beech score is officially wrapped up. I haven’t measured so I don’t know the volume, but it’s definitely the most beech I’ve ever had. I have some random chunk wood (oak/maple/ash) I’ll top it off with making more of a domed roof before tarping the top.

    Nice 'hausen!

Any guess on the cordage it'll contain?

    Thank you gentlemen :handshake:
Curiosity got the best of me so I went out in the rain to measure it. 6’ diameter x 5’ tall = 141 cubic feet / 1.1 cord
That’ll take care of a decent chunk of the heating season. The soonest this will get burned is during 2025/2026, and chances are good it may sit longer.
