Thanks! I’ll get a better pic for you. It’s from Mt. Snow’s Grand Summit Express. It’s one of the original chairs when they installed the lift back in the day as the ‘Yankee Clipper’. They sold off the old chairs 10+ years ago? It was when they installed the Bluebird 6 pack lift. Part of the deal with the lift company was to upgrade the chairs in the Grand Summit.
Looks like the hex head of a standard bolt has been pulled into the hole on the auger tube... Use flat washers and lock nuts, and tighten until they almost don't rattle, do not want them too tight. A 1/4" grade 3 bolt seems about right, I run a 5/16" grade 5 on my 66" blower
I rolled the dice and bought some pins off Amazon that “look” like they’ll work. Stay tuned for an update this weekend!.
Shear pins fit perfectly. Came in an actual Husqvarna box. My father in law gave me some extra tire chains he had and they fit the blower nicely:
I’ll keep you posted! All the snowblowing will be done on grass and probably some ice from driving over snow. Hoping these offer a little extra bite. The blower is stored under our deck and will have to be driven up the lawn to get to the driveway. And the driveway is grass.
I didn't think that looked like a $75 blower. I can't believe it also works perfectly. You stole that thing! Shear pin/bolts are pretty much all the same. Get the correct diameter and length and you will be fine. I'm not sure what Husky is smoking lately with their parts prices.
Seriously! I looked up the OEM pins and they were over $12 each! Amazon had a box of 6 OEM pins and nuts for $9.95. Different part number, but they worked fine. Go figure. Having worked in a screw machine shop years ago,. They are still making bank at that price too. HA!
I think what we're seeing in many cases is automated pricing gone off the rails. I've heard of Husky going back and "auditing" prices to bring things back to reality.
Ha another chance to use the blower this weekend. About 80% done with the driveway and the unit stopped moving; couldn’t get to move forwards or backwards. Checked belts and all were fine and engaging. Took the bottom cover off with the blower tilted up and found one of the smaller gears on the chain drive (the one on the drive axle) was severely worn. It’s hard to see the pice, sorry about that. Haven’t really read of this happening before! I’m hoping the part is still available. Wonder if it makes sense to do the friction disc while I’m in there.
I'll say this... with the amount of work and headache that repair will be I'd definitely replace any wear item while in there. Bearings too.

If you're still SOL, it looks like the small sprocket is just pressed onto the round shaft? Or perhaps there is a weld I can't see in pics. Assuming that's 40 chain on the drive, might be 41 depending on the width, You could machine off the old sprocket and weld on a new one.
Thank you! That’s my plan now. I’m going to pull it all apart and see what exactly I need. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s something else in there that caused this issue. Plus, that chain looks pretty darn rusty! I’m sure that didn’t help. Once I get it apart, I’ll post some more pics.
Ironically, more snow this spring vs. winter. Ended up hauling the ol’ Snapper 826 up from the flatlands to clear part of the driveway in VT.
