Glad all is well. Ms.buZZsaw's son was big in fresh water cyclids when her and i met 16 years ago. He kept going bigger and better with tank set ups. Had a few running around here. He bought a 9' long 450 gallon tank that i helped him move here. He fixed it up and no way it was getting in the house. Sat outside for years til i finally scrapped it. I enjoyed watching the fish. One tank was in the dining room and the lone fish would always watch me when i sat there. He'd get mad as id catch bugs and feed it. Fond memories.
Dogs were blocked from entering that room. I don't get it. I will say that I'll replace it with a tank that has thicker glass. AKA, bigger tank
Make sure to use the one that comes in the quart can like paint. The spray version isn't aquarium safe
Everything's been doing awesome in the 40 breeder tank. I moved the 60g cube and stand downstairs for now and moved the couch back over to the edge for now. Happy wife. My wife is all on board with a tank with thicker glass. It has to fit it that same spot So ... Either a 120g peninsula style, or something similar. There's a 90 gallon cube tank readily available that is only 6" wider than what I had. Instead of 24"x24x24, it's 30"x30" x24" tall. I've got time now.
