I'm honestly not that worried about it. I'm running a mild tune and don't beat on it. If something breaks I'll go from there.

First real fill up after my typical driving today. 18.2 mpg. Most of that is through towns with some 55 mph 2 lane mixed in. That would have normally been around 17.5 before I deleted it. My speedometer reads 72 when I'm doing 70 so I always subtract 3% from miles devided by gallons to be conservative. I think the real fuel improvement will be on long trips since it won't regen anymore - typically had a regen after about 300 highway miles and they lasted between 15 and 25 miles depending on speed and type of driving.

As far as how it drives, it's actually changed the shift points and power band a lot since I'm running a 40 hp mild tow tune. It shifts very fast and low rpms when not under a load - I have to put my foot into it to feel the difference but when I do it's really noticeable.

I'll update again after I take a long trip or tow something heavy. So far so good though. Really like it.

Only complaint/concern if you want to call it one is that a deleted 6.7 makes a howling noise because of the waste gate that is kinda odd. I'm getting used to it but it sounds like a Halloween noise..lol.. If you YouTube deleted 6.7 powerstroke and listen to the turbo wind down you'll hear it..lol..

My duramax is the same. Almost sounds like a siren behind you. Always look in the mirror to make sure. Wife hates it.

My wife is really gonna hate it when the cold air intake arrives..:ups:She thinks it sounds alright though because it isn't really loud.. It's a really distinct sound with the 6.7 though. I've heard the Duramax and it's not quite as odd - still sounds like a normal diesel..

I think the sound comes from the vanes on the variable geometry turbo.

Should be doing my first deleted heavy towing tomorrow. Supposed to grab a load of oak and ash from the other side of the mountain which will be a good gauge of how it will perform under some real weight. Coming back with the load, it's a good 6-9% steady long straight pull followed by a steeper downgrade with some curves. I'm really curious what the egt's will read up the hill and the performance of the exhaust brake going down. I've pulled some decent loads over this hill before with the truck so I have something to compare it to..

First update on the truck. It's been 1900 miles since I deleted it now. Everything functions just like it should. Only problem I had was an exhaust leak on the bell fitting at the bottom of the downpipe which in hindsight was my fault. I mocked up the entire exhaust before I tightened anything which I kinda knew was a mistake at the time - always tighten turbo back on a diesel. I squared away the bell fitting and bent some hangers near the back and it's good now.

So far I'm around 1.5 to 2 mpg better. I'm looking forward to some of the longer trips we take where I think I'll be around 21/22 mpg now. It tows like a beast and with the tune I'm running egt's are still pretty low even under a decent load up hill. Egt's on the 6.7 are generally cooler and that was something I had to get used to seeing.

Only real problem I see is DTPD.. Diesel Truck Parts Disorder. It's worse than CAD. I have a cold air intake on the way and am looking at 5" turbo back exhaust. Also have my eye on a Borg Warner turbo that would have me running around 600hp on a mild tune. That would require a beefed up fuel system though.. And the list continues..lol..

Good to hear the update. And I can drool over those numbers. I won't have one just a wish.

I don't see any reason for the 5" exhaust, as long as the egt's are not too high. Just a waste of money.

4" exhaust is good to 750 hp or so. After that there's a real benefit to 5" the sound on 5" is a little deeper.

I know all to well about the DTPD. I spent more than my house cost on trucks and parts for them over the years. :hair:

Do y'all regularly pull like 26,000 pounds or just like burning your tires up into little piles of rubber on the road to need 600+hp?

More of the 2nd than the first for most. 600 hp is just a whole lot of fun in a big truck that will eat mustangs and other sports cars up. I have towed 25-26k with my newest truck and some of the others in the past. This is a whole lot more fun with them though.

Neither. It's my daily transportation that I do tow with but I never beat on it.. I've never done a tar shot with it and never will. I put my foot down now a little here and there but I just like the truck..

I would never pull or anything like that with mine, but being able to absolutely toast "fast cars" with a 7000lb truck is fun.

Egt's are great and actually cooler on the 6.7 than the 7.3 or 6.0 - at interstate speeds I'm around 625 to 700. It would simply be for sound and another mod that sounds good. At this point anything else I do is a waste of money but it sure is fun..lol.. Diesel Truck Parts Disorder.

You know how it goes mdavlee . There's a diesel truck, there's parts, parts make power, and next thing you know the grocery getter is running 600hp..

I guess I am more the durability and for the long haul crowd.

With all that lower you start blowing turbos, blowing heads off and other things, twisting drive shafts wringing axles off. Power and sound are cool so is rolling coal but as a DD there is a point of overkill!
