Im running a 16 in .325 . Wanna leave the bars on...tanks full ?? Ill have to wait till later on tonight as well !!
More than likely the husky holds more fluids. I know the 390 and 660 is like that. The husky is lighter pho and then full of fluids it weighs within .2 lbs with the same b/c.
Im hoping to start a weights thread . With standards for consistently . I get the empty power head idea..but leaves too many variables to ponder I think . Like..well how much more weight will the other stuff create !! So back to this deal...I just weighed the 550xp completely clean..full tanks...new .325 bar and chain . I took pics because I hear without pics..it never happened !! I know some will find a way to argue this and that...but who goes to saw wood with no bar and chain...and no fluids in the tanks..not me my friends BTW..This is the 550xp I got my girlfriend...and she knows how to use it Heres the 550xp 3.7 h.p 14 lbs. 2 oz. And this has to be the cutest thing ever..I decide to do the same process with my Dolmar 350..except it has a 14inch bar and chain . My lil 4 year old daughter was helping me....she looked at the weight and said..i qoute even !! " Daddy ....that saw weighs a lot for being small ! " I said kiddo..I have heard that before !! Honesty out of the mouths of babes !!! The Dolmar 350 2.0 h.p. 13 lbs. 6 oz. I actually have my old Husky 450 (now my brother's) on my work bench today . Just giving it a cleaning and once over . I sold it to him with a lifetime service check !! So I cleaned it up..filled the tanks....and threw on a 16 inch bar and chain . P.S....something about those 450's that tickle my interest !! They just feel right Husky 450 3.2 h.p 14lbs 14oz. (lucky !)
I didnt think so either ! I even tried putting the saw in different positions on the scale just to make sure I was accurate . I think its a great real world way to weigh em !
If I may chime in, I have owned both, albeit the OE was a complete top end rebuild on a 351 chassis(identical to my knowledge besides P&C.) the OE was noticeably weaker, but I tried 2 variations of a muffler mod so not all things were equal. I sent the OE down the road and kept the NE. That thing is mean and nimble. If you haven't been impressed by a muff modded (and re-tuned) 346xp NE then, as the Internet says.... "You're doing it wrong." I could certainly see the 550xp putting the 346xp reign to bed (for the Husky crowd) as my limited experience with Autotune (or M-tronic in my case) is very positive. My 346xp has excellent throttle response, but the new technology is very impressive. At least my first impressions of my 441C-M suggest so. Ok, bring on some vids.
Actually the 550 and 545 come in that same box. There is no name plate on the saw (on the box). Both the manual and box are the same for any and all variations of the the 545/550 (XPG, XP, etc).
The 550 too Dex? Sold? Or getting some attitude adjustment? I swear you are like a revolving door for saws....
Ready to cut weight comparison. An awsome idea! Photos to support the weights given are great, but it would also be nice to have a summary thread grouping saws in different cc ranges to make comparisons easy to do. This is sticky potential!
Ready to cut weight is fine, but we should also include powerhead only. Too many variables when it comes to b&c, at least for comparisons.
Someone else can do PHO . To me PHO weights leave too many variables . At least with a middle size bar and chain , and full tanks...someone could get a close idea for an 18 or 20 inch bar...instead of completely guessing with a PHO weight . I still have yet to go to the woods with a PHO
