My partners sister called and said her landlord cut down a couple dead trees on the property where she lives and took the bottom 8’ of each to be milled. He cut the rest to firewood length. She heats with wood as well and wanted to know if I split her half, I get the other ½. Deal!!! Can back right up to it, I got my ½ today and took it home and split it. About a face cord I’m guessing. I will take splitter to the site to split her ½ as I left the big rounds that I did not want to lift into the pickup there. Good deal for both of us!

Forgot to mention, it was a hickory and red oak. Dead as I mentioned. but solid with no punk or rot. MM said 25-30% on the splits I checked so 27-28 winter firewood.

Seems like a fair deal to me. I've done that with my landlord in the past.

    Nice score there sir!

I say the family that hoards together stays together. Strong work and being willing to pounce on an opportunity
It seems like the only time the world makes sense nowadays is when I am splitting firewood….
