Renewal of my Pig status happened today

They are being delivered. But I have the receipt as proof. 6 ton of PTL's! ! :dex: Not the best, but definitely not the worst!

Current prices in my area (for comparison):

    Pro Pellets: 214.50
    Michigan Pellets: 224.50
    Somerset: 239
    Uncle Jed's: 249
    Kirkland: 229

I have yet to see any Hamer, Turman, Okie, or Blazer's around here. For me, seeing Presto Logs in Lowes a couple years ago was like seeing a Lamborghini in downtown Detroit.

IMO, at those prices, I'd be all over the Set's with a ton or 2 of the Uncle Jed's.

I've never tried Jed's. Those are a 20 mile drive, one way, to get to that dealer. Sets and Kirtlands are a bit closer, only 14 miles one way.

The pro pellets are three miles one way. Those treated me right last season. I want to snatch up one more ton of pro pellets, and one ton of sets or maybe Jed's for the dead of winter. Either way, I want at least 5 tons in the barn before snow flies. I have about 3.5 now.

Delivery from the pellet house is $25/ton, minimum of two tons, no maximum delivery price.

No wonder Smoke likes them. I have 55 bags of LaCretes in my basement and I love them.

Unfortunately I saw in an earlier post what he paid for them. At that price I'd have 5 tons in my basement.

Funny thing is around here the price isn't as cheap as some places, but the price really never fluctuates year to year.

Doug on another site i read that the bulk shipments into upton have 12-14% fines which are vacuumed out, and someone said they are repelletized on site. Any truth to the number and production of pellets on site in upton. Im just curious. I also find it interesting that there are less pellets sitting out in upton than last year. Are you flying through them that quickly or is there less volume being brought in?

dafonce....don't believe everything you read...our sales are 100%+ over last year and will be 100%+ over this year next year...business is very good. We do re-pelletize our fines and dust that is recovered from our cars, but your numbers are a tad high. Product sits in Upton no more than 72 hours before it is moved out to our dealers and I can't supply all the demand....especially since two larger manufactures pulled the rug out from underneath just about all their dealer base in the 4th quarter this year and others are having problems as well.

I have to laugh what I read about our pellets sometimes....there is really no new supply (new mills) coming to market anytime soon, so demand is very good. Even since the end of winter this year our sales have been on a steady upward climb and there was no slow down whatsoever this summer. All of our larger dealers thought they were bringing in plenty of supply for this winter and as you can see from most websites, they have run out in most cases by the 1st of Oct.....never seen that before this early.

We are sold out till end of Dec only because we choose not to extend our order file past that at this point....all my dealers would take more if we could supply and that is probably true with any manufacture of a decent brand right now... I will increase my bulk car fleet by at least 40% capacity next year and probably still won't be able to keep up. Supply is tight and the world wide demand for pellets is growing for good pellets daily, but because of distribution, you can't just flip a switch and increase supply overnight. We have a great dealer base and a growing loyal customer base....trust me when I tell you that we are shipping as fast as we can get them in a bag......thanks for your interest in our pellets.

We have added shifts, truck drivers, car supply and plans to keep growing, but we are still a niche market and I'm not here to supply everyone in NE...we are simply trying to supply the best pellet we possibly can and fill a market segment that was possibly overlooked in the past. We are also upping our inventory thru our Quebec warehouse to supply the upper NE market as well.

Thanks again for your support and interest in our pellets.

Cool thanks for the response. Found the repelletizing interesting. Didnt think it happened there. I look forward to burning your product this year and if it is good, as reputation has it, will in the future also. Comment about upton was more based on observation, i drive by the plant going to work. Seemed last year that there was a good amount sitting up front, cleanfires i believe. I figured nothing seemed to sit this year due to demand not supply. I can only imagine the logisitcs are a bear. Good to see that you are keeping up and thriving while lots of others have no stock.

Doug his numbers came from bcpellet(don't know his real name), But is some how attached to the LaCrete's. I though they were high, But didn't know the real numbers to correct him. Even if they were that high, I didn't think it made much difference. Because they go back into the stream after being re-pelleted anyway!

So you are done bagging after December in Upton for the season? Still lots of folks over here looking to find fuel.
