Well here is my last woods stock up at the house. I took 4 Oak heavy duty skid home on Friday from work. I had this Expanded metal rack hanging around (measure out nicely to 4' x 8'). By the time I fill this up, snow wont make my life miserable this year. I'll have close to 2 cords up at the house this year ready to go. Right now its holding 3-4 year old oak. Probably going to fill the rest up with Honey locust and Mulberry. Really looking forward to this years burning. Getting what I feel a little bit better set up. We will see.
Very cool use of material. Do you have plans to put something over the roof to keep rain/snow out? Yep, the shed was the best thing I did to keep the wood high and dry during the winter. Shoulda done it sooner.

Thanks. The siding, well.... The neighbor is tearing that down, he just a mansion of a garage. When the limb fell it & hit the ground it rolled. That really my first tree that I knocked down in a confined area. Lesson learned... It's not only the drop that counts, but what will it do after it drops. The kid has been a big help on the controls of the tractor. He's really starting to learn how big of help he and the hydraulics are.
Give him some good safety lessons, I am sure you have already. Everyone who runs equipment needs to learn about physics. My old physics professor use to say, this "stuff" makes this "stuff" react differently. That "stuff" going that-a-way changes that "stuff" going that-a-way. I liked that guy. I was never good at physics, but he had a way of explaining things in terms I could understand! LOFL. Anywho, the weight and distances those weights are at can really effect your tractor or whatever you are running. As I am sure you know. I have seen some guys tractors on there side, or worse, who thought they knew as well though! So I for some reason feel I need to express safety to people. Just don't want to see anyone get hurt I guess. For I have seen that a few too many times. (Residential and industrial construction.) Forgive me if I need to shut up. Just let me know. I have a pretty thick skin. LOFL Great set-up you have there, nice toys, I mean "tools"! "TOOLS"!

My father in law did, well I did for my father in law. It worked well until the propane truck ran it over. It consisted of 4 pallets measuring 4*4' 3 sides one on top the front was osb on a hinge with a handle and lock. The pallets where sided with slats nailed to overlap each other so it looked like old cedar siding but longer. The top was covered with a few pieces of old tin roofing. Was a good shelter until that dreadful day Dec 15, 2009. Yup I still remember
Nope , did some splittin n stackin today though, no pics, got dark First I have to burn up the wood in the stacks where I want to put it, gonna be 12' long
