I moved some of our better hardwood (It's been stacked since 2010) to an area on the north side of the house for this coming winter, it's easier to get to in the winter. The wood is mostly Beech with some Cherry, Soft Maple,Ash and Sugar Maple. I plan on having the empty racks on the north side filled by the end of this week.
Zap, looking good. Everyone seems to be excited to be out there and get their hands dirty. The million dollar question; how do the trails look and how much work is there to do?
It felt real good to be in a t-shirt, it's been two long winters for us. It looks like we might get some heavy rain tonight so that might knock down enough of the snow that I can get back in tomorrow or Wednesday. I think the area that I'll be cutting should be void of any snow. I did have a interested party watching me stack today.
They sure are. This rain with the warm weather will bring up the leeks, the deer eat the greens until they get to strong.
With all the wood you have and the work ya do to get it, looks like a full time job right there. So glad that you didn't convert to fuel oil heat like you posted on April first... LOL
Nice looking stacks there Zap.... Good selection of wood too. Little high BTU's and some that are best for fire starting and shoulder season! It will be nice to see things dry out a bit for all of us.
Yes spring is welcomed by all Zap....I sort of miss playing with the stove but I am starting to settle in and adjust.
