Right now I'm burning some locust that has been stacked, top-covered and seasoning for almost 6 years, and some beech that has been seasoning for 10 years! I ran into the beech accidentally under the locust, it was buried at the end of the burning season that year and I picked up the following winter on another section of the stack. It was forgotten about......until a week ago when I uncovered it, to my surprise. I had long forgotten about it. I took a few huge beech trees down that year. Man is that wood ever burning nicely!
I use a lot of memory but can go back to pictures if I feel like it. Generally, when I look at the pictures I discover that the wood has been back there longer than I thought.
