Always good to vent and we understand. Just checking to see if I had family close that could trade you a cord of dry for wet later.. A bit too far..
I have been known to go as far as using guilt to motivate my son at times....not proud of that, but it did help get the job done.
Nothing wrong with buying wood Jon! I have gotten way behind more than once.. I’ve hardly been to the woods this year either I’m looking pretty seriously at buying wood myself. I’ve got about 9 full cord and that’s not much compared to what I have had in the past. If anything it means your on the ball because your doing your best to prepare. I’ll warn you that the adds that say DRY WOOD in my experience are almost never dry. Around here they let the log lay for six months then split and sell it. In log form it takes much longer to dry out. It may be worth calling mills for cut offs and see who and where you can buy them from they are usually kiln dried and even if not are smaller pieces that dry faster. The time to go get them and cost may be worth the trip and piece of mind..
Before you think about buying anything, you best come here & get as many Oak & or Maple logs as you can haul. Have you looked in my backyard lately?
