Fired up the smoker to make ribs for my wife. Both kids are coming today. Weather is perfect. Pics will tell the tale. Binder on, then our favorite rub. Barkless cherry and mulberry for smoke and heat.
8:30- 12 on smoke. Just wrapped in foil on a bed of brown sugar and pats of butter, then apple juice concentrate on top. Timer set for 2 hours.
Made the 4 racks on mothers day here. Mustard binder, killer hogs rub, wrapped in foil with apple juice, butter, honey and brown sugar.
Intrigued by the apple juice concentrate. This is a new wrinkle to me. Is it the frozen concentrate or something else? More info please.
Yes, it’s the stuff you get frozen in a plastic “can”. I let it thaw of course but just pour some into the foil making sure it stays there. Adds an apple flavor profile that isn’t dominant.
