Haven’t started cracking these yet but I’m sure the straight stuff will go fine. Crotches and knotty stuff might take some noodling if the Sotz won’t bust it within 3 hits. I find BL to be a lot like oak when it comes to splitting. It’s just so hard the maul can’t sink in like with maple so it has to bust.
I havent hand split any in a while and my rounds popped with ease yesterday just with the X25. Love splitting BL by hand.
