Split, and with the wife's help, stacked some wood from a Boxelder cut down last fall at Son #2's house. You will be able to tell where the oak split/stacked last year ends and fresh wood starts in the photo.
I didn’t even keep track this year. Maybe 5 cord. We normally use 4-8 depending on the weather. The more work we do on the house, the less we use.
Started out slow with first burn in the middle of November. I would guess we are around 2 cords for the year, but cooled down again so not saying we are done yet.
Probably about typical use so far this season. I'll get the actual usage as to what's left when I am done burning in April some time
Moved the last tote of hardwood inside yesterday as we got 3” of new snow. That’s 6 cord of hardwood, and probably half a cord or so of poplar for evening fires last fall and later this spring.
Going into April, I've emptied 9 racks(3 cords) I might empty the equivalent of one more rack, as we're still using the woodstove. I've shifted to some beyond prime ash. Some oak overnight, if needed.
I burned 1.76 cord (I like to precisely keep track of how much I have stacked). But I only burn when it's below 40-45 for 24 hrs or more, given that my stove is in the 825 sq ft basement (takes a while to heat up and get heat to the 1700 sq ft living floors above), and that a full stove runs at least 20 hrs at those temperatures, and I don't like to run half loads. Above that temp it's minisplit time (running off of my solar kWh bank). 0.75 cord of mostly red oak, 0.13 cord of (some) maple, 0.43 cords of spruce, 0.2 cords of pitch pine, and then some minor black locust and cherry contributions. I have a 3 year rotation, with each of the three bays in my shed equaling 2 cords.
