Have you been paying attention to politics? M883 ban (ATF decided not to enact) , talking taxes, talking about making it illegal to talk gun specifics and ammo manufacture online?

Ammunition bans are the back door to gun control legislation. Well I should say making guns obsolete, if you can't buy ammo.

It's true that ammunition bans / laws aren't gaining support, but that won't stop people from hoarding and panic buying if they think a Democrat will end up in the White House.

The truth was there is nothing different about the M883 or whatever its number is from a 7.62x39 or a .308 or 6.8 which they admitted were next cause they build the AR platforms on them. And then why stop there? I have a deer rifle thats chambered in .243 that I can get a 10 round mag for. All high powered rifles are "armor piercing" weather steel core out not...they all go through body armor.

I've seen a 1/2" steel plate shot by a 300 mag at 100 yards. The hole was so clean it looked drilled, no metal deformation. No doubt it would have went right through 3/4", I'd like to see it on 1", may have to get closer to penetrate 1"....

    Griz,
I know your pretty new to the gun scene, so I'll spell it out. (No offence meant at all btw)

If you were looking for 22 ammo 2 years ago, you would have had better luck finding unicorns, leprechauns, old yeller, and sasquatch all having a group love session ...o wait. I forgot chupacabra too.

Unless your supply is enough for the rest of your life, you dont have enough.

Even if it doesn't disappear forever, I will guarantee the prices will continue to rise like flood waters until the buying stops.

Adam, if you get the chance...stock up. 5K rounds isn't that much when you think about it.
.22lr isn't going to be as available in the near future, as it's been in the past.
    Stock up.

don't try to do it all at once. when you have a few extra bucks in your pocket and there is a box at the store, get one.

I'll even buy ammo or reloading supplies on sale for guns I don't have. You can use it to barter some day.

Tried to "like" your post more than 100X, site wouldn't let me.
Box or two at a time. Brick if you get lucky. Just stash it away. .22lr can do almost anything you'd need it to, best reason to keep it on hand.

Even if you dont want the .22 buy it for future sale or trade. Think of what bricks were going for 18 months-2 years ago?

I too have stuff that I dont even own that caliber. I have a pile of the the evil M883 , 556 ammo. Why? I picked it up for free where I found it. I have lots of brass for guns I dont own. Not as much as I should but I have it.

You can't have to much of anything ammo/firearm related.

Isn't that the truth! I counted my .22 boxes this week. Just under 5k in bulk bricks, and another 1k in 50 packs of various ammo I've picked up over the years for accuracy testing new guns. It wasn't that long ago and I wouldn't have considered buying any more ammo. Now I wan 3x what I have!

Every place I have been lately has had .22 ammo in stock to buy. At least 3-5 different types to choose from. Anywhere from 40 50 100 300 325 500 count.
I check while picking up new fishing stuff so I kill 2 birds with 1 stone. :D

New to me trade in. Love getting bang bangs in trade. mkIII 22/45

Love that gun Cut. I have one that I shoot lots.

Are you seeing decent prices on the ammo? I'm not talking about the price say 4-6 years ago but at least in the 5-7 cents a round price?

    40 50 was $2.79 to $3.?? , 100 cci mini mag $9.97 $9.99 then some special 3oth labeled 100 was $12.99 , 300 325 $19.99 to $27 depending on type , 500 $26.50 to $46 depending on type.

So prices are up but least you have choice on the shelf to buy and shoot.

7 cents a round is not a great price.

I have bought thousands here in last few months just over 5 cents a round and wont touch them at much over 6.5 since they can easily be had cheaper.

7 is ok...like mentioned at least you can buy them.

I usually get for 5.5, but 7 for a small times business isn't bad.

I hate paying these high prices for 22 ammo. I was looking today and 9mm can be had for under $200/1k now.
