Those are 325 round boxes. I can get them by the truckload at Cabelas. They also had thunder bolts when I was there last week. They were a penny more a round than these fave cost me so I didnt buy any bit I did buy 4k S&B primers at $19.99/1000

Fail to eject. I shot them out of my favorite pistol my ruger 22/45. Its pretty reliable and has an aftermarket verquartzen ejector even as it was said there better than the stock one.

Anyway I probably shot 150 rounds through it that day. I bet I had a 10% rate fail to eject. Its almost like there not hot enough?

Most were slammed back into the chamber. Very few got crushed in the bolt. Most just failed to send the bolt back far enough to clear the empty and put a new one in the chamber.

This gun probably only has between 3-5k rounds through it.

I have ammo out of 7 lots. And only have one box opened. Maybe it was a specific lot? Maybe the ruger does not like them? I have not shot any in the marlin mod60 so not sure on it.

My ruger 22/45 use to always like the federal 550 bulk pack of the copper washed bullets. But I havent seen those in years. A few times on Cabelas but was too late to order them.

The ones I am talking about so were all sure is those federal auto match bullets in 325 boxes. Like a cream box with a black target on it I think. Someone posted a pic of it a few posts back.

    Ahhh.....The good old days.
When I was a teen, I killed a dump truck load of dear (;)) with those. Draw an X between the eyes and ears, put one in the X- Or one behind the ear....they dropped like a wet rag.

They may cycle fine in your weapon. Guns can be ammo picky.

Like fox says all guns are different with different. Its the truth. Back when I got into 22 big. There was winchester dynapro I think they were called. The rugars loved those and the internet forums like rim fire central praised them. They were only like $2 more dollars a brick over the federals or thunder bolts but they literally functioned flawlessly. Dont think I had a fail to fire or eject out of several bricks of them in the 22/45.

This was over 10 years ago though when you could go to walmart and choose from several different types and bricks and short bricks at walmart.

I use to buy those 550 federal packs for like $10-12 I think. Those days are gone I have already come to that rational. Can't wait for those prices again. Best deal I have had in blast 10 months was like $15 for the winchester 333 box. Found it at academy. They had like 30-40 short bricks but I could only buy one. I scores some recently at Cabelas , same thing I think. I paid just over $20 I think for them.

I was never a fan of them. Dirty. Neither my marlin nor the ruger 22/45 that I have ever really liked the Rem golden bullets. Lots of failures.

Hmmm, what to do? CCI Standard Velocity is what I used to shoot the most, but $45/brick is kind of high, especially when you add in the shipping.

As to the "Auto-match" I just shot around 100 rounds of it last night. 50 from my Sig 522 (which is ammo-picky) and 50 from my Ruger Mark I. It's a small sample size, but I didn't have any issues.

My ruger mrk3 22/45 didnt like them.

Maybe I just need to clean and oil it? Its pretty clean as a 22 goes and it is not a clean picky gun either.

Might be worth a shot. Or try a different box of ammo. Really I'm still learning my Mark I's quirks. I was told when I traded for it that it didn't like Thunderbolts or Golden bullets, but I've put around 200 golden bullets through it fine so far. I've only shot it 500 times total so far, but it's taken everything I've put through it. I haven't cleaned it either, so those Federals where shot at it's dirtiest so far.

My Sig on the other hand doesn't like to cycle any cheap rounds except the red 550 packs of Federal. The Thunderbolts and Golden Bullets are the worst with it, out of every 25 round mag I'd get around 5 FTL's or FTE's. But I ran several 10 round mags through both guns last night using both a slow, controlled firing rate, and a couple mags as fast as I could pull the trigger with no issues using the Federal auto match ammo. Hopefully the other 5 boxes I have run that good, as you have me a little worried with your earlier post!

I have many boxes of it. I think I may try another box out of a different lot before I clean it so I font have to many variables. Then I will clean it of results still dont get better.

The 22/45 is a pain in the but to take down. Not ad bad as the HiPoint C9 though:mad:

My marlin nor my 22/45 liked golden bullets but that was over 10 years ago and I am sure things have changed since then.

I didn't have a chance to do a real thorough test, but 20 rounds each of Automatch and Golden bullets fed through the buckmark with no problems.

I know bass jam knows this . But just cause they dont shoot in my 22/45 does not mean that if one of you had one they would do the same in your gun. Yours may love them. Each gun is different.
