Our youth season was 2 weekends ago. I took my 10 year old out and he got a 7 point with his papas gun! Quartering away 50 yard shot. Down within 40 yards. This is his 5th deer he’s shot, and I was asking him what he’d like to get this year. He said he wanted at least a 6 point cause he’s gotten a doe, a couple spikes, then a 4 point last deer season. He was tickled to get a 7 point! I love seeing his response after he shoots one!

Buddy of mine called last night and asked if he could hang one in my walk in. He said he was big bodied and he wasn't kidding. He showed up with this horse of a buck (171lbs dressed).

It sure is. Biggest deer I've killed dressed 165lbs. His deer seemed much bigger even though it's only 6lbs heavier lol.

  haha nah. I just didn't know if he wanted his pic all over the web

Just sat down in the tree waiting on the woods to settle. The hill off to my left is bare dirt from the deer working the acorns so hard.

I hate it when the deer are at the same level as me on a hill like that! Sounds like a good spot though. Good luck:yes:

Nice job! Looks like a great shot too! How much meat did you end up with from it?

I've never shot an elk...saw some up fairly close near the Grand Canyon. I would have thought you'd get way more than 170 pounds off one....interesting...
