Guy's, put them in a pan of water 4 cups and 1/2 cup salt. 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar and let them soak in the fridge over night. "Cook the next day" rinse real good first. *Edit* a cup of cheap wine instead of vinegar will work also

Threw the two drumsticks in the crockpot with this recipe with beer :coldone: but without the jalapeno and chilies (didn't have them on hand)
I cooked it for about 3 hours on high and turned it to low about 10 last night when I went to bed. I turned the pot off at 4 this morning before leaving for work.
Meat was fall off the bone tender. My son finished the process and said the meat was easy to separate from the tendons and bone. Ended up like a pulled pork in a thick sauce. I will definitely do this or something similar again. I will likely throw the thighs in too

    MEXICAN TURKEY

    • 2-3 turkey thighs & legs
    • 1 onion, diced
    • 1 tomato, chopped
    • 1-2 jalapeno peppers, diced
    • 1 4.5-ounce can green chilies, diced
    • 1 6-ounce can tomato paste
    • 1 cup white wine or beer
    • 2 tablespoons chili powder
    • 2 teaspoons cumin
    • 1 teaspoon salt
Place turkey meat in slow cooker/crock pot. Add remaining ingredients. Stir in spices. Cook on “HIGH” heat 5-6 hours or until meat falls from bone.

I removed the rest of the bird from it's overnight brine and threw it in the Charbroil Big Easy this afternoon Great supper with a side of fresh picked fiddleheads.
