We hit 80 today with the temp at 77 tonight, it looks like we'll get hit after 8 tonight. Our dog is acting real crazy so we'll see if it's sooner, she's in her safe space so that could be a bad sign. My wife said she heard a tree come down when I was in the basement, maybe it's another pine.
This is coming this way. At 758 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located over Fowler, moving northeast at 60 mph. Wind gusts up to 50 mph are possible with this storm. Locations impacted include... Potsdam, Gouverneur, Canton, Ogdensburg, Norfolk, Oswegatchie, Lisbon, De Kalb, Fowler, Parishville, Colton, Morley, Degrasse, Carry Falls Reservoir, Waddington, Richville, Hammond, Cranberry Lake, Madrid and Rensselaer Falls.
This year we have been hit with one storm and about 2 or 3 have missed us, things are pretty quiet outside so we'll see.
This is the chit heading towards us, it looks like parts of Canada got hit hard. The Weather Network (@weathernetwork) | Twitter The rain has just started up tonight, we received 3/4 of an inch earlier.
Thats somethin.....we got all that torrential ...long lasting rains....knock on wood.....no bad storms all summer....yet
Something in the woods just broke off but it didn't seem to hit the ground, the winds are picking up. 651 without power northwest of us. In the second period it's Toronto 4 and Buffalo 3.
I hope it misses you, it's still 72 here so that cold front isn't here yet, keep Dawn safe or you'll be sleeping with the chickens. It's been a crazy night concerning weather statements, we've had three special weather statements for storms coming at us with all three taken off, that's ok with me but it's a first.
The Pens should have another good year unless injuries get their best player. Toronto spent a bunch of money so they should be good unless their goalie isn't up to par. The Sabres are rebuilding (again) but have a good young group with some veterans so they'll take their lumps but it will be tough for them to make the playoffs this year unless Jack has a great year.
These storms missed us so we dodged another one but with the inch of rain that fell today, I can burn some pine branches tomorrow if I want.
After the winds later yesterday, I decided to check the trails for anything that came down. Picture 1888 & 89 are a small beech and a sugar maple, picture 1893 is what I think is another small sugar maple. Everything was brought home so I can split and stack it this coming week.
Well, we were able to get a few church members and friends to come over and help buck and split some of the tree that broke off here on our place. Carried it over the my veteran friend that lives down the road. First time we have hauled a split load on the dump trailer. It holds a heap.
