I have 264K on my '01 F-150. Did replace engine Feb '18, head gasket started leaking oil on manifold. Had an engine built with torque cam installed. No rust, original trans. Been blessed with so far. Had 40K in it when we got it.
This cherry has been uprooted on a small sugar maple (damaged) since last winter I think, so today I hauled out one load. I have some rounds left along with what you can see in picture 9432 to the root ball in picture 9433.
That will burn good. Looks like a nice size tree. Nice looking woods. Good job. What was the temps today?
I did get some pine split today but I'll need to clear a new area where it will be pile stacked I learned that from a guy from Michigan. I'll get some pics up later. I did get some covers out so we can cover our shoulder season wood tomorrow and then we'll do the hardwood. The nights are cooling of which feels great but we do need a steady rain since things have been dry. Pictures 9434 and 9435 are the before and after of the first pile I split, and the rest is what I did before I got the tarps out so we can cover this years shoulder season wood.
Sure will Chazsbetterhalf , we have six more piles in log form with another huge pile of rounds so we're set for many years. Not many people burn white pine for heat in their houses up here so we'll try and have a whole bunch of fires in the outside fireplace once it rains but definitely in the winter.
Glad y'all aren't afraid of the PINE...... I have mixed SYP limbs in with my wood, or when starting a fire.
I promised the wife when we started burning pine I would clean the outside pipe when we were done burning pine in the fall, we don't get much but it makes her feel better. The inside pipe from the stove to the thimble could be cleaned every two years but we clean it every fall. I always clean the stove when we're done burning in the spring.
I just covered just under four face cord of shoulder season wood, I'll cover the third rack tomorrow. The middle rack is under two face cord because of a tree and the back rack (16 ft long) should've been two face but the stacker left about four rows off the last two feet.
Picture 9436 is the white pine pile I've been splitting from, pictures 9437,9438,9460 are from today with 9464 and 9465 all the wood I split from this bunch of white pine. Picture 9462 is this years fawn who watch me split for an hour before leaving.
We had some rain coming down pretty hard tonight which turned to a nice steady rain which we needed. Tomorrow my plans were to open up an area to dump the pine I've split but we'll see what the weather is like. The area has some dead smaller pine on the ground and standing that I'll clear before I start moving the pine there.
I cleaned most of the covers for the firewood and then top covered seven face cord of hardwood, I'll top cover more after tomorrow. This year we'll top cover eighteen face cord of hardwood along with six face cord of shoulder season wood.
We had a bunch of dead pine that I felled, once the dead stuff was down I felled a pine into the woods (didn't get a before pick) but once I clean all the chit pine up and then split the good stuff, this new area will give me more room to push the snow. In the past when we would get lots of snow all winter, this area near the driveway could get pretty narrow so I would move the snow, that shouldn't happen anymore.
