The wife did, I was in the woods that Thanksgiving day cutting so I was hungry when I came back to the house.
I finished stacking just after 12 today, attached are some pictures of a face cord of cherry with some maple on top.
Oh what beautiful food is coming out of your house thewoodlands ! I love all the pics including the wood (haha), but this turkey dinner in particular has me wishing I was sitting at that table this very minute. The gravy alone would make me a happy man and it doesn't look like you will run out which is always a plus, but what is that watermelon colored sauce? Is that a different take on cranberry sauce? By the way, you carve a turkey just like me; fillet meat off bones and then slice it up putting white meat on one side then moving to my favorite, the dark meat.
Enjoyed watching you cut those logs up T.Jeff Veal! You're a strong looking man and no nonsense with bucking up. I wouldn't want to have to fight you for that big oak you had there. Never had pecan wood where we are, are we missing anything special up here?
This is also a very nice dish. Berried Delight Combine: 1-1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs ½ cup sugar 1/3 cup melted butter/margarine Press firmly into bottom of 13 x 9 pan and chill for a couple of hours Beat until smooth: 1 (8 oz) pkg softened cream cheese ¼ cup sugar 2 tablespoons milk Fold into about 14 oz slightly thawed cool whip Spread on crust Arrange 2 pints hulled and halved strawberries in even layer. Beat 2 (4 serving size) pkgs vanilla instant pudding into 3-1/2 cups cold milk. Pour pudding over the berries and chill for several hours or overnight. Serve with additional thawed cool whip and additional berries on top.
Oooh Thanks thewoodlands ! we grow black berries and blueberries on our small property, though not so much luck with the blues. They stay kinda pea sized (probably on wrong side of house) and the birds usually find them before we do. But we always make things with berries especially strawberries. I will give this a try since its a pretty straight forward recipe and looks crowd pleasing.
Ha, after rolling those rounds around, there isn't much left to me...lol... Pecan is in the hickory family, doesn't make as good wood as hickory, but alot of folks like to cook and smoke with it. Do y'all have the Chili's restaurant chain up there? They smoke their ribs with pecan wood.
I got a 30 lb turkey given to Me 2 days ago because my buddies freezer broke. Free range he raised at his house and I know what he fed it... had to bevcooked iovernight and it's in the freezer now... 88 too hot to enjoy turkey... But stuffing gravy and sandwiches
It's my favorite and I think you'll like it. I'll be having some next week with some homemade ice cream with chocolate chip cookies.
