Today I did get the two face cord up for a total of six so far. Pic 9326 is the first load,9227 the second,9228 the third,9229 the fourth and 9230 is the fifth. The pile in pic 9323 is the biggest pile left, I'm hoping for four face cord but if it's less then that's will be ok.

I'll take a break from stacking tomorrow and then start up again when the weather allows.

I took the day off from any firewood work and we took the boat out, the top water temps were only 70 but it felt great. The water is at spring levels.

In pic 9341 there is usually 15 to 20 feet of sand showing at this time of year.

It felt great, lunch on the river in nice weather is never bad. Our dog enjoyed it too but when we stopped at a small Island the deer fly got after her so we put her back in the boat and headed for open water.

Hopefully it doesn't rain the whole day so I can get more ash stacked.

I'll be happy when it's all stacked, I still have logs in the gully that will need c/s/s so I'm hoping that will give us our ten face cord if not more.

This all starts again this fall when the leaves fall, I'll be working in that same gully.

Yes sir, it never stops...but that's a good thing...have you checked out our progress in the "Git'ter done down in Dixie" thread? We started filling the sheds about April, we were doing some log clean up before that...

I wanted the far end open for plowing during the winter so I only stacked one face cord in the back for a total of nine, I still have more ash split from the stack I was hauling from so I'm hoping for another face cord.

Pic 9354 is the first load, 9355 is the last load and 9356 is everything stacked.

Thanks T.Jeff Veal , the stacking was easy with some weed eater action after near the garage after. I think that I'll cleanup an area on the frontside of this stacking area for another face which will give us ten in that area.

A few years ago I had 18 face cord in that area but I'm allowing more room between rows this year (18.75 between most rows with the last being 20) I'm also leaving more room in the front & back for plowing in the winter.

I have another stacking area that needs filling, it can hold 14 to 16 face cord but that will need to be leveled off with wood chips before I get stacking.

Usually both areas would be full of firewood but we had a death in the family in 2016 & 2017 and 2018 we did our own clearing for the new garage which amounted to 42 trees of all different sizes, 99 percent were white pine. After this last heating season we still had three plus years of seasoned wood up so our season wood inventory is still good, thank god Mrs. Backwoods Savage pushed a bunch of us to build our seasoned wood inventory up. :picard:

So sorry to hear of the loved ones passing. I have been watching the garage build thread. So glad y'all had enough seasoned wood to get by...
