Had a 15% off coupon for TSC, good only for two hours yesterday so bought 5 bags of their pellets (no, I don't need any). Pellets are normally $5.29/bag and with the 15% off were $4.41/bag. Thought they were Dry Creek that they had earlier in the season which everyone said were horrible but figured I'd compare them to Maine's Best that I've been running (@ $1/bag). Both stoves were literally running out of pellets when I got home so I loaded the TSC right into them. damm that P43 was throwing out some friggin heat! Now I know my stoves like hard woods but wow! Then realized that they weren't these (Dry Creek) But these (MWP) Dang, if I'd known that I would have gotten a truck full instead of 5 measly bags
I got a few bags last year and liked them (yeah, I bought some even when I was sitting on 12 tons ). I should have paid attention last night because I certainly would have bought a bunch more. Ah well, maybe I'll get another coupon later in the season so I can justify topping off the stack in the garage.
Bogieb, Maine's Best? $1 a bag? Or are you referring to the Maine's Choice score we got at Lowes for $99/ton ($2 a bag) a couple of years ago? I've burned predominantly MWP for years. Always consistent.
And they're friggin hot. Good to know. Larry just had some delivered today and I'm going to be ordering some soon. Like Larry, I've been a fan for quite a while. I won't touch the Maine Choice, though.
No issues burning Yeah, mostly that. Plus, not really any lower ash than a decent hard wood (these MWP and Cubex)
May need to grab a few bags and see as they were at 219/ton this past spring. Not they were a bad pellet but if they have gotten a little better, 219 would be a great price of they are back there next spring.
TSC branded? Good to know if that is the case as I will know that in the future. As far as I know MWP dosnt make all hardwood.
