They're calling for some rain tomorrow but I think that I'll finish chipping what's left of the smaller stuff just off the trail.
I started to rake up around the outside fireplace, it was a mostly leaves with a few pine needles. Pictured are three of the four loads I dumped on the trails, I'll get some pine needles on top of the leaves before next week. The ferns in the ravine are still green.
I plan on doing another four loads from around the fireplace so when we get some rain, I can do some burning outside the next day. We'll plan for some steaks over the fire that same day.
Five more loads today on the same part of the trail. Once I get five loads of pine needles on top, it will be much better.
It still hasn't rained hard enough to burn outside so I think that I'll do a couple of loads of Pine needles on the same section of trail. I think ole Gasifier is hogging all the heavy rain.
I did four loads of pine needles today, they should hold the leaves down I did yesterday. It was a wet day today until two and then it stopped. I took about an hour for lunch and the rest of the time was spent outside. I took down the fence and the t-post we had where the tomato plants were and then dumped all the dirt from the five gallon pails into the bucket on the tractor and then dumped them in a new compost pile. Tomorrow might include some trail widening, we think we'll get that plow for the tractor (seven footer) so I want some wiggle room in certain areas.
Where did you come up with that nonsense Zap? Methinks they are jumping the gun a bit but time will tell. Last year was October 17 for our first.
We had a spell of steady rain for about 2 hrs, then a heavy band moved through, but didn't last long. Rivers way done here and I'm hearing wells drying up all over. I'd best check mine perhaps.
I did one load of pine needles and then spent the rest of the day cleaning up downed pine branches, two bucket loads are pictured but I had four. The last picture is the area that two loads came from.
If you want some more leaves you can come over here and pick them up, you can have them for free !!! , but you must be licensed and insured
Today I did three loads of pine needles/leaves for the trail, I also delivered two bucket loads of pine to our neighbor and split most of the five bucket loads of wood from our old splitting area I brought over to the new splitting area yesterday. I'll be mixing the wood I split today with the pine when I stack it.
Nice work Woody It's funny with all the trees around here, close to my property there's only like 3 or 4 pine trees
