I'm getting my chimney swept next week and will be firing up the Waterford Stanley with some biscuits shortly thereafter.
hiptfarms, welcome aboard. Brother and I worked on a house a couple years ago that had an Erin tucked into a HUGE fireplace.
Thanks for the welcome. I've got a Leprechaun that a friend gave me as well. She bought a larger Jotul and was going to let the stove shop guy haul it away for nothing. So I drove to upstate NY from SC and picked her up. What's 12 hours and 800 miles one way for a free stove?
We cook on our stove all winter long! Usually soups and stews. Heres some pics I found from last year… I'll be finding this thread through out the winter and post some yummy stuff!
You're still young.....plenty of time to pay it off. Go for it! I really enjoy helping others spend their money.
You bet! The family would have a nice/beautiful air loom. That is so nice. When I went to see one of our friends, Coaly, He had the Kitchen queen, That thing was very nice also. I would love to have one of them, but not here!
Get ya a pair of welding gloves from the local welding shop or on line. They work great and are good for about 750*. It gives you the chance to grab your pan and get it to where you need it.
We did some steaks on the wood stove tonight, I let the cast iron get to a temp of 450 before putting the steaks in, they were very good.
Roast chicken from last winter. Most of our baked potatoes are made in the stove in the winter. I'd like to make a pizza in there, but don't know how I'd get the pizza stone out of the stove without making a mess and or burning myself.
