Well, looked things over. Figured out three point hitch attaching. About an hour and a half of mowing done this evening. A little visiting with my trusty neighbor and tipped back A beer. Right now, all is well.
Two more hours of mowing this morning. Moved a few buckets of clay/dirt into some low spots and back dragged them off. Time for it to rest while I spend a little time at the enjoyment center.
Yes it is Stinster. Thanks. Getting our debt reduced has become priority for me. With kids soon going off to college, and then retirement about 9 or 10 years off right after the last one finishes four years of college, it is time to get serious about it. While at the same time continuing progress on the property. Of course! I had really intended to go with an ag tractor with either a cab and no backhoe, or a removable backhoe. I wanted R-1 Ag tires. But the nice tractors I found that had the backhoes and R-1s were too expensive. I wanted something pre-tier 4 emissions and in decent condition. But I really knew I couldn’t go without a backhoe. Just so much that can be done with them. A strong one, even better! So when I found this one at a decent price I decided to just get it. I was tired of looking at tractors too! Wait, I never get tired of looking at tractors. But, Now I’m not looking to buy anymore. I have always found that if I buy something with low hours and in decent shape, I can use it a few years and turn around and sell it for the same. If I decide to, and get all my money back. Or close to it. The amount of work we do with them is awesome, as you well know. So this multipurpose workhorse should serve me well. With the R-4s, if things are wet, I will just wait until they dry out a bit. Plenty of other things to do. With the snow and ice, I may buy some 2” wheel spacers to move the rears out and make room for an expensive pair of quality ice chains!
Gas don't under estimate the screw in tire studs, and congrats on your new helper. You've been through enough "helpers", glad you're settling down.
Sold the L48 with my attachments and got all my money back out of everything. There is a market out there for used equipment. I didn’t owe anywhere near what I sold it for and wanted to free up that money to pay for some additional inside construction work on the house we decided to have done. I wanted to pay the contractor in cash and not owe him anything. Then I went and found a little nicer machine.
Always nice when you can sell something without taking a loss. Glad you got your use, and money out of the L48
