Level "B" have no crushed rock in them. I'd callem, "Mud Roads". They are really something when the frost starts going out of them. They are OK as long as it's not wet. The clay is really something.
I could look at that 661 all day and nite !! Congrats on the saw and blower )) looks like a gr8 time at the GTG !
I've wondered how well those leaf blowers work. The low end model is only $140 at my local shop, is it any good? Will it blow saw dust off the lawn?
The specs for the BG 56 (I believe is the small one) were just slightly lower than the BG 86. You can add the flat end and gain about 20 mph wind speed IIRC. This unit was a step up into their Pro line. And for the discount I got and the time I plan to own it? I figured why not. Right now is Stihl days at my dealer. You get $20 loyalty bucks off anything $50 or more. Plus, their price is always negotiable.
Is it a BG55 or a 56? Either is a great unit. Not much different design wise from the entry-level models to the top of the line. Just nicer grips, a little more power, and I do mean a little. The engines are built a tad bit nicer on the upper level models but longevity has never been a problem with even the entry level machines. I have an SH 86 which is the same as Dex's machine except for the vacuum features. It has nearly replaced my backpack blower for all but the largest jobs. BTW: air speed is BS when shopping for a blower. It's all about volume at the nozzle.
If there isnt much difference I who dear why anyone buys the higher end ones? I can't see where these would be much help. Seems I always need a backpack and would like more power than they have. I borrow one from a landscape frei d the once or twice a year I use one. I need to find a good used one one day.
There's not a whole lotta difference in price really either. 3 models that range from $150 up to $250 or so. The upper models really are more comfortable to use for longer periods of time. More power than a backpack? Look for a used wheel blower. They pop up used all the time and usually need little or nothing to keep them going.
Problem is those wheel blowers are not very manuverable. I had to blow in a pile and burn and then blow the rest once the lower level dried out. The echo bp500 I uses just couldnt get it all.
