As long as it has a hose and doesn't screw right on the torch tank like this. If you want a leak, try this style torch... I can't even solder with one of those...
Oh... and mesh sand cloth...only MESH sand cloth. Looks like this and its only a few bucks You'll need a 1/2 and 3/4 inch wire fitting brush also. Looks like this and don't try to use old dark stained or green corroded copper fittings.
Clean the copper pipe and fittings till there is no shine or dark staining. (Like this but use the mesh sand cloth. I prefer well used mesh so it's not so aggressive)
I use - And for heat- And if there’s still water in the pipe, balled up white bread (not white wheat or any of those “artisan” breads) as a plug... works like a charm. Obviously, Timbalina, the young lady ( aka TurboDiesel ) shares great knowledge and skill.... just saying that my brother and I did some very high end control boards still in service (14 years running) with what he showed me how to use. But to Tim’s credit, my brother always said a tank setup (for heat) was best.
Yup, mapp gas cyl works, but "the hose" Tim spoke of makes working in awkward positions SO MUCH easier!
Bingo! You can't turn a propane tank/torch upside down. And when you're in a tight spot, like against a wall, or plastic tub surround, you'll need to heat from behind the fitting so you dont burn the drywall or melt the tub wall...

I am in construction mode on a cane doing electrical, plumbing and sheet rock.. This is hilarious I can say this.. At least the handicapped are fun to watch work.. I wish I had it on video.. Bumbling day here, one thing after another, lots of work and little progress deal, you know? . Anyway, I give up on Lowes website. I found a great little vanity with a top for $59, great, the order finally went through , I wanted to keep it all at Lowe's so WWW didn't have to make two stops in Cheyenne (he'll be doing it on his lunch hour), but for the last few days I've tried to look there it takes forever to go from one page to another and often errors out. Actually I did have an order placed at Lowes the other night, then received an "order failure" email, sorry, we'll send you a $15 gift certificate in the mail. I've added a tub/shower fixture kit and bath sink and accessories 2 nights in a row, both nights my basket was emptied the next morning though it said 30 days. Ok, thanks, but looks like he'll be doing a pick up at Home Depot too. Same model for the shower a couple bucks less, different model on the sink also a couple bucks less. I'll have recreate my research on accessories but I'll do that at Home Depot. Within budget so far anyway

Some of the disappearing plumbers putty cans and teflon tape rolls are are in there Also a few new valves. Hopefully the brushes and pipe cutters are in there too. TurboDiesel , what makes that solder quality opposed to others? The flux can feels empty, its dinged up so I can't open it, ( I may or may not tend to use solder for many crafts/projects/rigging that have nothing to do with plumbing ) Eyeing this:
First you want the solder to be "lead free" which is all you can buy now... BUT, the "silver bearing" solder has a lower melting point, quite similar to the old 50/50 lead solder, which was very easy to use since it would flow around the joint very easily and evenly. Look for Sterling, Worthington or Lennox. They all have the same purple label.
Looks like there are other brands with the same contents. We only buy the Sterling. The boss told me a couple weeks ago he paid $1200 for a case...
