So this chain is from title unit . it is for a 48" bar. don't know the displacement but about 12hp. Thought I would post some pictures ( and I am sorry I only had my cell phone) because most of you have never seen anything like this style wise. Might be some collectors in our group. The saw is on e-bay( not mine).
that set is referred to as a raker set in the world of bandsaw blades. on a hand saw it is a simple left right alternating. on this chain it's a 3 tooth progression from a straight raker to a max offset, this aternates left to right over about a 8 tooth span. Sorry my pictures do not show it well enough. I do not know if Havester chains still use this or not- but that would be the class of chain. Drive links are apx 5/64 thick 3 rivet spacing apx 1.5"
yes it is. There is a good discussion and pictures + sharpening instructions in the archives of another forum that stars with a A. I just cleaned it up and got all links loose for the customer - not spending time on sharpening it as he is trying to sell it.
Really interesting story how things today haven’t changed too much but a look at yesterday or year and that’ll really make you appreciate what things were like. I’m liking that it went to a museum where the likelihood of being connected to a country that burns an amazing amount of firewood as a purpose of cultural heritage. Nice that you got to work on that.
