Oh, so slow! When winter came it really came to stay. This Spring I split and stacked 5 cord, and the friend I occasionally hire showed up and split another 5ish this weekend. I’ve spaced the stacks so the tractor mower fits in between, and did a first pass around these and all the other stacks with the string trimmer.
I have a friend with one, and should encourage him to come practice here! Actually, in true FWH style, you are nudging me towards a purchase - I would love to have one myself!
The loggers have the start to a 100-cord pile about 400 feet away from here. The trucker that delivered this load will haul most of that pile away. “Buying” this load was a matter of timing (needed to get some stacked and drying since we had no time commitment on the logging job).
