I need to replace my worn out Goulds 1/2HP well pump and wondered if this is a good choice? http://www.aquascience.net/jet-pumps/index.cfm?id=445 Ray
My friend bought this pump 2 years ago and it's worked without fail so far. http://www.amazon.com/Red-Lion-RJS-100-Shallow-24-GPM/dp/B005X53JC8/ref=pd_sim_sbs_hi_3
That Goulds looks good. How deep was your well again? My old man (engineer, plumber, basically knows everything about "dad school") swears by Goulds. Some are still made in Seneca Falls, NY--- about 30mins away from where I live. The newer pump shouldn't be anywhere near as loud as your old one.
My well is 25' deep and the old Goulds pump works fine and they do last and are still made in NY.. Well worth the money as it has to just work everytime! The old pump is noisy as the motor bearing are completely shot. Ray
Nice! Our well is 28ft w/ 8gpm flow. We have a submersible w/ pitless adapter, etc since it was all part of our home package. Probably not worth upgrading to that for you since the jet pump is working well... I'd upgrade the pump, though, at some point.
Update: I ordered the Goulds pump at the link below: https://www.aquascience.net/jet-pumps/index.cfm?id=445 I also ordered all brass fittings, check valve, gauge etc.. Time for a fresh start! Ray
All wells are expensive but yours would be more expensive.. Lots of water where I live so no need to drill that deep.. You could hand dig a well here if you wanted to.. Ray
I can only imagine what that would cost. I had a new well put in 3 years ago, 210 feet deep and that was expensive enough. But, for the OP, I can't imagine that pump wouldn't do the job for a 25' well.
It was drilled 22 yrs ago when we built the house at that time it was $8.00/ft replaced a few pumps about $1500 each time
I have a Goulds that pumps water from my pond to two livestock waterers and irrigation water around the house and veg. garden. It has been flawless for 8 years now.
That's about what I paid. Plus the pump, drop pipe, casing, wire, abandoning the old well to county specs, etc. My in laws live in the city and complain about their water bills. I told them us country folk pre pay our water bills in one lump sum.
