I was underwhelmed with the MS362 till huskihl ported it. Now it's my go to saw for typical firewood work.

I too was underwhelmed by the 362. Which is why I'm not all that much of a fan. Other saws in that class (stock) just have more grunt. IME. Porting a saw should always wake them up.

The 362 is light, and I'm sure I'd be impressed with a ported one.

I had time this morning to take a look at the 029. It didn't start so I check for spark like you guys suggested. There was spark so I put the plug back in and it still wouldn't start. I put a new plug in and it started. I let it idle and gave it a bit of gas for a few minutes. Didn't stop. I took the bar and chain off to clean it up and I took the recoil side off and cleaned that too. Put it together and it still started. Rainy day today so no chance to put it into some wood. Hopefully it was just a flaky plug. BTW A small jumper wire with alligator clips on each end with one end on one of the bolts on the muffler worked great for a ground for the spark test.

put a tank of gas thru the 029 and it worked great. Having a plug that is not failing does wonders for keeping a saw going.
