Or 262 now maybe. I always think of them as 026's still. Excellent four wheeler saw. You know you don't have to little or too much saw with you. I thought I needed more room on my four wheeler, so I bought one of those terrible spoof saws...the ms 170. Doesn't work for trapping. Should have kept my last 026 for sure. The 141 is going to have to work, until I can get a deal like yours.

What is wrong with the 170?

Properly filed for the powerhead a .375 "can" out cut .325 because of more room for chip clearance.

Don't usually have too many problems with chip clearance on a 16" bar

Needs money put into it for a commie saw. My fault. Bought it on an instantaneous decision, without looking into them.....has a carb that you can't fully adjust...had to be tuned twice a day when going from 4500 feet to 8200 feet. Cutting in clean conditions, the saw needed the muffler gutted with in 10 minutes.
Basically disappointed in stihl. I suppose it would be fine for a home dink around saw, but on the trapline? Not a working saw for me. Looks like sweden has been destroyed by islam, and I don't know if terrorists know how to build or engineer a saw?
My fault again, should have vetted the thing, instead of just telling the dealer to have one set up and ready to go. I'm a dunce.:D

I know stihl isn't a swede. Just frustrated, and need more coffee. Wishing

Put a Walbro WT215 on it, then muffler mod it. It will be a completely different saw.

Thanks neighbor! That is the plan. I googlized it the other day. I've got one coming in the mail. I did the muffler after work the other day. I'm glad the internet is availble. The days of a dealer understanding what you need, seem to be dead. I should pay a tithing to Internet sources, and ditch the dealers for good.

I have a couple 026's and have to say they are the saws I use, most often along with my 261 and 260. The power to weight is perfect imo. I have the .325 and 3/8 and 16 bar and I think I like the 325 best but both work well, just a matter of what your cutting. If I was in big hardwood I'd use 325 in smaller or softer wood you would probably like the 3/8.
Looks like a nice saw you found.

I love the 026 that I bought in the 80s. It is my main backup to my relatively new Husky 555.
