You just holler at me next time.
Yep...... And the 681 performs better with the new piston. When the Solo was engineered that piston was not available.
The best piston for those saws is the new one that Dolmar developed. Those guys have far more funding for R&D than we will ever dream of.
I made one for a 681 with a 272 piston. That piston swap was a mistake. It killed case compression. Ran about ten times better when I put the...
Or cut about .050 from the squish band.
Yeah Shawn.......I think there were several of us that were more than a little aggravated. :D
I'm of the mind that this saw is almost as good as it can be. There are gains there.......but nothing that is gonna blow me, you, or anyone else...
That one is mine Keith...... I put it back up........I hate to do anything to it. It's just a nice saw as is.
I'm still feeling really bad.......I might have to end up seeing a doctor. I hate doctors. :(
I sat this on the bench and stared at this morning. [ATTACH] [ATTACH]
Better split that case and check every piece carefully.....
Well I told Chad that I didn't want to see anymore results from saws I've built posted. That was just the result of me being frustrated, and more...
Well, I feel like I owe you and Chad an apology Keith. I got frustrated on AS.........
I get good solid gains from them. Not sure how much is gained though.
I sent Chad an email........asking him to come here to continue the discussion. I've been pretty sick the last few days......and my patience level...
This is a much better place to discuss the saw.......and the odd check mark at the end of the dyno run Keith. What have you and Chad decided to...
Dunno........we've not had a 460 dyno tested yet.
I have no idea.......Chad did the dyno run. He checked his numbers twice.
Odd looking graph.......but since it's making almost 2 full HP more at 11,000 RPM.......I'll take it and be proud. [img]
That Solo is a running bastard huh? :bug: It took me three tries to get really good gains from a Solo 681......so I'm really not at all surprised.
