I find the TC very easy to use, only setting I have ever changed on my stove is I turned the feed rate down slightly other then that I don't touch...
Hmm seems like the Turmans did best on a low burn which is how my stove mostly runs, may have to try and track down some for next season.
Might get a bit more heat out of the Hamers but I don't think you will see much difference in ash compared to ligs. If you can grab a few bags...

Just hit 1 ton for the season so far, stoves been on since the end of Oct.
I really think you should grab a bag or 2 to try dotman, you will quickly appreciate your pellet choices you got out West.
burned them last year, they are your typical box store hardwood, ashy and average heat
Just checked out the manual for cleaning the mini and the serenity will be much easier for cleanings.

Those northeastern blends burned pretty good last year. Just picked up 20 bags of them myself but haven't burned any yet.
