I cut and split a lot of silver maple. I have never cut any sugar maple, it does not grow in my area that I know of. Silver maple is everywhere...

Depends on the condition of your splitter. If it is clapped out, it sounds like a good deal for you. If it is like new, you might want another cord.

I have. Sweet gum and elm are equally nasty to split. Hard to say if one is harder than the other. Certain trees may be exceptionally hard to...
