I picked up some wood today. The person told me it was black maple? Anybody ever use this stuff before or is this something different?

Yeah it is a pain didn’t know how tough it was when I picked it up in the spring. It’s taken a lot of wedges and a sledge to get it to split.:bug:
[ATTACH] Ash is so much easier to hand split. I’ve been recently trying to handsplit what I think is hickory which has been a nightmare.
Unfortunately I didn’t see the post until it was up for a day. Luckily I grabbed what was left.

All hand split currently it’s my only form of working out besides lifting a beer lol.
The shed is 10x12 front posts are 9ft heigh back post at 6ft. Should hold I would think at least 4 cords stacked 6.5ft heigh.
