Agreed. Its very hard, heavy, kind of tough to split. I save it for cold snaps.

My first year with an EPA stove, I burnt red oak with MC in the mid 20s. It burnt ok. I got by fine.
10 acres. About half wooded. Mostly Red Oak and White Oak. Produces more than I burn.
When the rails need filed (by feel), I remove, file and flip.
