Rain & warm.....Not for long. just halted the stove from burning. Ugly's were perfect for last spell of chill.
sweet heart wood. Awesome job
Just the ugly's and some old pine. Tossed in some ash for a longer burn.
Never knew them (Box elder bugs) to be a nuisance. Just in quantity a very/very mild pest. What their purpose is.... I don't know? Never seem...
I keep mine in the "round" so it can last a few hours. Only the large trunks get split vaguely. Since I have many Box elder bugs tiring to get...
I bought a HF. I point it in the sky to see -35f in the Summer. But it worked on my engine +129`
I'm seeing the dominant tree's of Maple & cottonwood in my acreage. It just get flooded (river lands) every year, great soils, no Hickory's yet....
Having 2 stoves in the house does make a difference. Having a third in the shop is Heaven.
Awesome fires! I'll build mine up as temps drop.
Oh.. you can have field Ash that's quite stringy. I'll take my from the woods next time.
Soon but not yet
Can you tell me more about these tree's. I have Siberian elms not a good tree at all.
The County/USDA pays me to grow trees on my bottom lands. Just wish my Hickory was a seeder.
Impressive to see that.
A few pic's of my Russo. Can't get much info on this stove, era 1980's.
An update I painted my Russo. #2
