Dennis I seem to remember you once posted a picture of your Fireview Cat just to show what a dirty one looked like and someone at Woodstock saw...
I've had nothing but good experiences from Woodstock and I'm on my 3d WS stove since 2007. Not saying this specific isssue is not real or...
I had the recent unpleasant experience of drinking a stinkbug :jaw: It was in my coffe mug and I didn't know it till I felt the wiggle on my...
I felt so strongly about having an ashpan that I sold my Fireview and replaced it with the Palladian. Although some stoves have lousy Ashpans,...
My Fireview had a terrible coaling problem. But the Palladian and Progress never ever do. I'm not sure why.
Just my 2 cents, but I like an alarm that keeps going off until you reset it. I know it's more expensive than a kitchen timer, but the Auberins...
Locust is notorious for coals. It makes great heat but definitely makes coals. I would burn with a higher draft setting so there is more air.
It might help to understand exactly what you mean by "coals a lot". If you fully load the stove, get it up to temp (250F stovetop) and then snuff...

I've only had to light my Palladian twice this Winter, but both times the AT100 worked great. The washer probe responds instantly to the single...
Dennis you beat me to this comment! And if his screen is so dirty he can't see the cat, YIKES!
Definitely agreed. I can run my stove best on weekends and Holidays for sure.
Good to hear someone else is rooting for the colder weather! People around here supposedly pride themselves on being "hardy New Englanders" but...
I added 2 feet of stack height and it made a HUGE difference in improved burning characteristics in these rediculous temps for November and December.
When the Fireview Cat stove went thermonuclear with a hot cat, the solution was to give it MORE air. Seems counterintuitive but it works.
How can you tell the cat is not lighting off? By stovetop temp? 0
Has there been any word back from Woodstock about the black liquid? I'm sure you've seen Golf66's Thread.
Hahahahahahahaha!!!!! Your Wife
