I put the file to mine yesterday Brad. It was a bit weird at first but after a few teeth it wasn't much different than round filing.
I thought it cut a bit smoother than regular chain. Not sure about the chips but the noodles were pretty big.

I bought one to try but it's not on the saw yet. (462). 20" chain and file ran about $55.
Proper chain tension. To loose will allow it to spin. May need to adjust the idle speed down a bit. That's all I got for now.
