A bit colder here now. 37f outside, 75f inside. Pine and maple in the stove.
Been away for a few days and returned to a house at 55f (frost setting on oil heating). Burning some maple and things are slowly starting to warm...
Had our first fire of the season on Friday, burning field maple. Still doesn’t look like it’ll be cold enough for a fire in the next few days.

Hello all and hope you’re well, it still hasn’t got quite cold enough for a fire here which is unusual for us. Temps are getting up to 60f in the day.

Struggling to get much above 45f in the day over here at the moment, dropping to 30 overnight. Burning some maple.

48f here, burning some pine and birch.
Cold and snowy here today. Big chunks of ash and cherry keeping things toasty.

Beautifully put.
42f here, 73 inside. It’s not that cold out but it’s windy so it feels a lot cooler. Sycamore and ash in the stove.
It’s generally sold by the cubic metre. The going rate is about £100 1m3.
Interesting seeing how wood is sold over the water. I used to buy a lot of my wood and I still do on the odd occasion. The chap I use includes...
85:bug:, that’s impressive. Hovering around 32f outside, 74f inside here. Sycamore and cherry in the stove.
A crisp and cold day here today, burning ash.
Very sorry to hear of your loss Dennis.
I too love trying different species, this year I’ve been burning cherry, apple, ash, yew, oak, sycamore and various conifers. I keep the more...
