I drop 6 or 8 larger trees each year, hickories, beech or maples. So I do not use it a lot. I do however have a granberg mill I have not used...

You can always mix it with sawdust logs. Stack it up in a windy area and mix as needed

Run non ethanol gas at all times!!!! You might have had a little bit of crap run through the saw. I had a similar issue with my Stihl weed eater.
Shrink wrap may have held moisture. You might be better off buying the sawdust logs from tractor supply.
I might sell the excavator in the spring to buy a slightly larger unit. Serious buyers save up!!!
