I see a decent amount of it up here - if for any reason you ever drive up I81 in Virginia the road is practically lined with it in many spots.

Cold, clear, and windy. Needless to say I just tossed a few splits in the stove.
One thing that may help you is your climate. You should able to season oak, or any wood for that matter in CO much faster than we can in the east.
