They hemlock and pine I have split and stacked in the wood shed is bone dry, I'll be using that with the red maple I've got for the shoulder...
I'd take whatever you can, I used it to roof my wood shed, heavy but water tight.
Not sure if that is what it really is. I know people here avoid it like they do pine and hemlock. I've only css a small tree of it and didn't like...
Most likely, I know in Washington county up my way you're not supposed to haul white or red elm because the DED.
No idea what it really is as far as scientific breed but I've heard it called poplar before. All I know is I don't touch.:whistle:

I'd take those old Poulans are pretty tough saws and you can't beat the price.
I don't know about others on the east coast but we get hemlocks and white pine that can get about 20" across and they are a nightmare to limb....
Nice splitter, never saw one that just ran off the hydraulics of a tractor like that.
