I have a few beech rounds and they have been a pain in the butt to spilt, mind you I do all my splitting by hand. Tough as nails.
I love getting a load of ash looks like it will be easy splitting and ends up being as stringy as spaghetti...
Where their is a will there is a way lol ya I think the bigger ones are close to 30" and I have some more to buck up getting around the 30-34"...
