I think elm is highly underrated on the BTU chart, I love it. I agree, I think it is right there with oak.
Oh yes, I have put 20+" dia rounds into the OWB when I wasn't splitting most of my firewood.
I take everything down to probably 2" dia, 6" and under I don't split, heck there is some 8-10" rounds I won't split, they burn well in the OWB.
I have done to much shooting with out ear plugs, I always were them now. Thanks for the info, I will definitely check them out!
