Maybe I can dump some ATF in to thin it out. Quick somebody do the math for me on what it would take to achieve AW22 viscosity by adding ATF.
Is it possible that might run it dry though, depending on where the pickup is?
Urgh. I should have left well enough alone. Drained out the splitter and put the AW32 in. It's worse now. Slightly better than when I first...
Man that thing eats. Also yeah I hear you on the whine thing. Interesting.
Good post thanks for the food for thought!
Great thread. Also: Lol. I have this sticker on my compressor: [img]
Reading.. I have a welder and a milling machine so fabbing a bracket would not be an issue. Big issue is finding a splitter with a blown engine....
Intredasting. So in other words, I might be able to find a splitter with a blown engine and toss a air compressor motor on...
While we're on the subject of splitters, I think I want to upgrade in a few years. Something with a faster stroke and ideally something that can...
Cool! I'll just do that. So anyway, checked the fluid level and it was barely on the bottom of the dipstick. Dunno where it all went but it was...
So if I put AW32 in instead of AW22 in, is that going to affect the splitting performance at all? BC I'm willing to special order and wait for the...
From doing some reading it sounds like AW22 and ATF are better for low temps and AW32 is better for high temps. It sounds like 32 is similar...
I don't use it below 40F.I actually only us it between 40F and 60F for comfort reasons. I definitely want to fully change out the oil. ATF would...
Also where do you go to buy ISO 22 hydraulic oil? Autozone doesn't carry it and NAPA only has 5 gallon buckets. I assume RK and TSC have it but...
Gonna go pick up some hydraulic fluid and try that. Will report back.
This is the generic 6 ton that comes under a million brands from the big box stores. It's never been particularly strong but it's gotten worse...
Doesn't want to run when hot is a classic ignition coil issue right? Compression can be checked by tugging on the recoil starter cord.
Good stuff, glad I asked. thanks everybody!
Anyone have good advice or a good article on various shapes of wedge cuts? I always fly by the seat of my pants but it would be good to learn...
New idea--and I actually think this will be the item that really makes this project happen--I have a weekly chore every monday morning that I...
