I’d like a price on a 24” bar and chain combo for my CS-590. Thanks!
I’m not losing any sleep over it. I probably need to figure out what to look for and how to actually rebuild before I take a $125 gamble on one...
Is he a member on here?
I was looking at parts and then put the kids to bed and someone else bought it. There will be another one sometime.
Where’s the best place to find the parts? This is all new to me.
Local guy has a Stihl MS261 for sale. Says it has no compression and doesn’t run. Comes with 20” bar and 3 chains (2 new). Asking $125. What’s it...
Yes, it does. But, I can’t remember the size off hand. I’ve used it to split about 4 Rick so far. Works great.
I have the 25 ton version of that same splitter and it’s been great, so far.

If I go ahead and get a 24” bar later,....what’s a skip chain???
Been researching them for a week and a half, but, just joined the forum last night. Helps that I was off work for a couple days, too. Lol

Wandered down to one of the Echo dealers to take a look at this CS-590 Timberwolf and it followed me home. Makes my old MS180c look like a baby....
I have checked out the 271’s with a 20” bar in person and did notice that it has a lot of plastic, like my homeowner 180c. I liked it pretty well....
What bar length would be best on the 590? I would lean toward the 20”, but not sure.
All of my equipment now is Stihl: chainsaw, pole saw, blower, weeedeaters.... But, I’m not afraid to check others out.
I’ll definitely look into the Echo. I do have a dealer local. My dad has an old Echo that I remember being a beast, don’t remember the model.
fairly new to serious wood cutting and brand new to the forum. Have a 14” MS180c that I bought new about 9 years ago and never let me down. Been...
